I think those vultures were waiting for me to fall down and break a leg, S.C.

The first typically happens at least once on one of these hikes...it's really steep, and you have a choice of rocks or fallen leaves to step on as you head up or down mountain.

So far, they haven't had the luck of the second...

I assume Turkey Vultures only eat dead turkeys, so, Thanksgiving leftovers?
