I forgot to get suet packs for the birdfeeder yesterday when it was nice and sunny, and Ace Hardware closes at 3 P.M. on Saturdays. So it was off through the torrential downpour this afternoon.
Look, here's our first customer!
P.S. I was inspired by BDR's example to double-post on this Saturday. (I don't try to compete with Ultra-Productive People™ such as Tengrain and M.B.)
And if a fire doesn't float your boat, perhaps some mist in the trees?
I know. You're all holding out for a rainbow, aren't you.

Do the birds get so red-faced from too much suet?

Man. Closest Home Depot used to be open 24/7. ('Cause you may need a new faucet & some lumber after the bars close, I guess.)
Only open 19/5 now though. 18 & 17 hrs. on wknds. Damn recession.
NUTHATCH!!
Lervely mist photos, thundra... and rainbows to boot! Where are the darn unicorns?
Where are the darn unicorns?
I knew someone was going to ask that, Jennifer!
There was a family of unicorns...a daddy, a mommy, and two babies...but they ran back into the mist when I tried to focus the camera.
I think unicorns must be as shy as pileated woodpeckers.

Could pan drippings be used as a suet substitute?
AFAF
I am given to understand from "Last Tango" that butter is sufficient.
They put it through some process so it won't melt, even up to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, BBBB.
Plus the block in the picture cost $1.47.

This is a rich country we have found; there is plenty of suet around my entrails.
I notice the lack of customers at the human feeder table.
You need to put out more suet.
that is a very burly bird on that package
