How about a hummingbird?
The weather changed a week or so ago, it's been much damper and cooler. Thus...Toadstools!
A stray kitty came by for a snack, and then moved on.

Cats with frikin' laser beams coming out of their eyes...
The mushroom photos are particularly gorgeous. I have a thing for dead leaves.
And yet no toads to sit on them.
Indian Pipes are NOT SHROOMS.
Ginja kitty is actually the goldfish in its other form.
I did see a toad yesterday. It hopped out from under its house (an old broken cooler) when we had to move it to power wash the deck.
No pic, though, Mr. or Mrs. Toad escaped into the rockwork.

Does Mushroom #1 have gills underneath, or a boletus-style honeycomb mesh? AFAF.
Mushroom #2 might be an oyster mushroom. Then again, it might not be.
Fungi don't count unless they're in the bathroom.
The orb-eyes are scary!
And yet no toads to sit on them.
Just wait til those tadpoles undergo metamorphosis.
Is that kitteh the same one that used to stop by in the winter?
So little rain, so little psilocybin. Ye lucky bastarde.
S.C., as I feared, mushroom #1 has disappeared.
On the other hand, mushroom #2 has been joined by some friends.
Here's a picture of underside of one of them.

yay for the fungi...
and the kitty with the laser eyes!! =)
Here's original orange cat, B^4. I don't think they're the same.
My first thought when I saw this one was that was who it was. Kitty was trotting up the road (faster, after he/she/it/cat notice me). I called "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty™", and put the bowl out in the back. 10 minutes later...

So the gills don't run all the way up the stem... not Pleurotus ostreatus then...
Milky-cap - Lactarius. But I don't know enough to know which one. Some are prized and edible, some taste like crap, some will make you sick, so don't play with it.
Any standing water around our place will have us eaten to death by mosquitoes in no time.
Nice shot of how fast it happens.
