Dogs, Birds, and Christmas Orbs

My contribution to Michelle's Nature Notes (#405) and Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #158.
Here are Amelia and Miley:

I'm also linking to Anni's I'd Rather B Birdin'. I haven't been out and about too much, so here are the platter birds:

And it's too long since we've had any orbs around here. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or just have a great weekend if that's your thing!

Dark and Orby Night on Cacapon Mountain

My contribution to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #143 and Anni's I'd-Rather-B-Birdin'.

It was a dark and orby night:

So this tree frog came out to catch bugs on the sliding glass door. He/she/it/Hyla versicolor was doing well, I saw two captures.

Now for some porch birds:

Here's Lady of the Lake, Theda. Note the leaves are starting to fall:

Who let the d.a.w.g. out?

Last night in D.C.:

Here's the birdie bush yesterday afternoon:

Birdie bush at 10:29 A.M. this morning:

And a bit more table bird action from Cacapon Mountain, W.V. (I am also linking to Anni's I'd Rather B Birdin'.):

P.S. The Thundermobile a few minutes ago (it's snowing harder now than it was around noon, and that's after the blizzard overnight):

Blue Post, Fences

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 362 is Blue. Would you consider this electric meter blue?

O.K. how about this flower? (I am also contributing to Michelle's Nature Notes (#345).)

That flower looks bluer in person. How about this fence? (My contribution to TexWiscGirl's Good Fences #94.)

Good thing I have Theda to help me find fences. And blue things.

Orange Orb Weaver

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 357 is Celebration. Here's a Christmas Cactus my sister gave me.

For TexWiscGirl's Good Fences #89, I have this morning glory fence from Columbus just over a month ago:

I'm also contributing to Michelle's Nature Notes (#340). I did not get a great macro of this Marbled Orb Weaver, but I'm putting it up anyways. I've seen them in vanilla and yellow, but this is the orangest one ever! (My sister, for some reason, did not find this spider nearly as spectacular as I did.)

And here are some of the suet feeder fans:

My Old Shadow

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 355 is Old. Meet my shadow, we know that feeling.

This is also my contribution to TexWiscGirl's Good Fences #87.

Oh my, Saturday Sunday already? I'm also contributing to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #101. And I missed Michelle's Nature Notes (#338), too. At least I'm not too late for Anni's I'd-Rather-B-Birdin!

Here is Amelia last Sunday. She's always loved to zoom up on that couch and stop at the top, just when it looks like she's going to fall right over:

Blast from the past: Amelia from February:

How about some orbs?

I'm also linking to Michelle's Nature Notes (#334).

I don't often get good moon pics with my camera, but sometimes I get some interesting effects:
