Lines, Orbs, and such as

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 194 is Strong Lines. So I walked around taking some pictures of the usual subjects, but thinking about lines. Here's a couple.

The orbs have been visiting the last week or so.

Did you know there's something called an Orbic Batfish?

that top photo - astonishing! the angle/perspective make this one of my favourite pics ever. the colours are perfect, and the roof tiles... I'm blathering on, I know, but I LOVE THIS SHOT!!!

and the bird is cool :)

Geez, that sky is so blue it almost looks manipulated. And the bird bath is charming.

Thanks, youtoo.

Only the robin was manipulated...He/she/it/bird flew away when I tried to take a picture, so I stood by a tree and pretended to look across the street until the bath resumed.

Lying to the American public? You've got a bright future selling us out, young man.

Glad you weren't in my neck of the woods. The lines on my face would make good blog fodder/picture taking material. :(

Great pictures, as always. Orbilicious-ness at it's best.
Iris's are my second favourite flower. I wish I had some growing on my property. Hmmm.. perhaps next year.

Never knew that name on your darling fish, thanks, and your lines are just straight and perfect, as your photos always are. Nice view of your cool city!

Randal, there really is an Orbic Batfish!

Laura, another thing about those particular irises: they're huge.

Thanks, Karen!

P.S. I recommend that everyone go play the California Dreamin' dogs video at Tengrain's place.

That Orbic Batfish looks like neither an orb nor a bat. I DEMAND AN INVESTIGATION!!!*

*Investigation result- the orbs are behind it.

Nice lines on that Batfish.

Man, the robins are just GINORMOUS this year! I keep wondering if they got some radioactive worms or something.

Our irises are just about to pop!

Love the dog video, but then... I love dogs.

The more interesting question (well, to me at any rate), is who it was (Thunder?) who was tampering with the MPoE box on the wall in the background behind the fountain?

I like picture two. But the Louisiana pancake batfish is the way to go.

I'm with Alexia: First shot is a total showstopper. The composition stopped me dead in my tracks.

I'm really enjoying this week's theme: such great exploration of a neat topic!

I love that top pic, too! Great composition.

I woke up at 3 A.M. and looked out the window, K. It was there, huge and slowly descending, but I didn't feel like getting dressed and going outside.

Here's a video from N.Z.

IRIDES. Harumph.

Oh how I love irises. They smell like what I imagine the color purple would smell like if it had a smell.

I've always imagined the color purple smelling like Chiclets or Smarties... :)

lisahgolden said...

Mmmm. Chiclets. See, they smell and taste like the color white to me. And Smarties taste like exclamation points.

I always figure PURPLE tastes like crayons.

Oddly, all the other colors do too.

Alexia said...

no, no, no - purple smells of dark chocolate.
