What did you say to the deer in Photo4, Thunder? Man, it looks shocked!
They are very nice photos.

Oh I love those deer! No, they don't look shocked at all - just curious!

And the tadpoles are great! - you take some wonderful nature photos.

Put those pants back on now!

Those powerlines need floaters so the aircraft won't get snagged.

really cool parallelisms!

i have to say...the deer mom with her youngsters is a great shot...and the flowers with the little butterfly...and the ride down the river...
BUT the tadpoles all lined up is a perfect shot!!! i hope they grow some parallel legs soon....

Laura, those are three little deer...note that all three still have spots.

(I spotted mom later...)

Man, I LOVE the synchronized tadpole event!! Later, after you left, Thunder, they had the Pond Polo elimination matches. It was awesome...

I thought those were natural-selection matches.

I always like your photos - it's always a pleasure when you put up a bunch. Are you sure those are Silver-spotteds, though? I'm used to seeing them look much larger, and hold their wings vertically like 'regular' butterflies instead of that '4-wing' angled position that the small skippers use. I'm no good at the little, skittery skippers, though, so I can't offer any alternative names.

JohnR, the skippers I see most around here most are Silver-spotted or Firey.

You can't see the white spot on the hind wing to make a positive i.d., so judging from what I can see I picked Silver-spotted (unfortunately, I don't remember from when I took the photo).

Another possibility is Hoary Edge, Achalarus lyciades.

The power lines is my favorite too.

I'm a little freaked out by all the UFO's in the moon picture, though. Seems like you kinda buried the lead there, thudner.

Your frog shot is amazing. Tadpoles lined in a row, how often does that happen?

Love the deers and the water shot. In fact great captures all.

...for an extremely imprecise definition of 'parallel'.

I guess things are different in West Virginia. But then, they would be, wouldn't they?
