Carmi's Thematic Photographic 204 is Orange.
Would you believe these flowers are orange? At least when compared to the Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail?
Heck, it was worth a shot. Here we have the Eastern Amberwing, Perithemis tenera.
And now for some blues.
Widow Skimmer Dragonfly - Libellula luctuosa
Erythemis simplicicollis, Common Pondhawk
Red-spotted Purple, Limenitis arthemis
UPDATE: Orange Crush video and Imperial moth, Eacles imperialis

Y'know, it's kind of weird. But I listen to REM a lot more since they broke up. Something about scarcity and loss, I suppose.
Moxie. Speaking of blues, any damselfly sightings?
I was going to include that video, but the first one I looked at had TWO ads before it started, and then some weird script error started coming from youtube via Firefox. Think I'm gonna have to reboot and then look around.
P.S. We've got all the thunder, lightning, and rain right now that anyone could want. Flash flood type stuff.

I took some damselfly pics earlier in the year, B^4, but right now the lake is full of Pondhawks, Amberwings, and Widow Skimmers.
Might be that any damselflies that fly by around now get eaten.

How about Orange Cat? No sign?
BDR, funny but I had the same thought a bit earlier.
I shouted "HERE, KITTY, KITTY!" out the basement door into the night, but no response. I have not seen any sign of orange kitty since winter.

The Eastern Amberwing looks like flying Cheetos!
I'll play orange.
Morange.
Also, I have an orange dog that is available. You pay shipping. Airholes are extra.
I guess I should add this video tomorrow.
ALSO: The rain has stopped, and there's a huge orange moth outside the kitchen window. I already got munched by the neighborhood insects while getting a photo or two, but I fear they're not so great.
I think I need to turn off all the lights inside the house and try again. WHO'S WITH ME???

Ahhh, Orange Crush. Quenched many a thirst in my youth.
At first glance at the third one, with the two orange fireflies, I thought “What are those fireflies doing so high up and how did you get a picture of them?” I had to enlarge it to realize they’re over water with some leaves and branches in it, and not far above a hazy city and mountains. I swear I’ve seen that landscape when flying over Southern Utah.
Great pictures.
Orange and blue go perfectly together.
A fine official post. I really like the Eastern Amberwings.
BIG MOTH IS POOPING ON YOUR FINGER!
Every year or two, in a pathetic attempt to justify their existence, the marketing geeks choose a trendy new color for the corporate ID of startups. I've noticed in the last year or two it's been orange. This surprises me, because orange doesn't connotate smart and fast as much as it does ponderous, bloated and loud. Thankfully, they're about due to move on...
What frightens me is that the thought expressed by ZRM is exactly the first thought that entered my mind when I saw that picture.
Eeewwww...
Nah, he/she/it/moth always has that facial expression.

Cheap animation, thunder.

So mikey hates my design?
FINE....
Pudgy, comic relief, zrm.

So mikey hates my design?
Nah. Anybody with a Sears card and a gallon of Glidden Exterior Latex could fix it right up!
Holy lord, man, did you travel back to prehistoric times to get that freaking moth? THAT MOTH WILL SURELY RISE UP AND DESTROY US ALL!
But, seriously, stunning photos.
A fine picture for Thundra.
Love the crush! Iconic, as they might say!
But you are brilliant at photographing dragonflies, and moths. How do you do it? Creep up at them? Sit by a plant and hope they will alight there? And those amberwings in flight are just gorgeous!" What is the background?
AND HOW DO YOU PERSUADE THOSE MOTHS TO STAY STILL ON FINGERS/////
Gilly, I walk by the lake a lot. Usually they're flying, but every once in a while they land. And when they do, it tends to be on a spot they like and will return to (after chasing the others away).

That moth ain't very orange, thunder.
I rate for Emperor Palpatine Moth.
Beautiful photos as usual, thunder! Really great.
Also, "widow skimmer" is a scary phrase to me.
Also? And I hate to tell you this. We just saw a coyote kill a groundhog out back. :(
Wow, beege. You took pictures, of course. Right?
~
No, we were too... OH MY GOD, A COYOTE! OH MY GOD, WHAT DOES HE HAVE?! OH MY GOD, IT'S A GROUNDHOG! SAD, SAD, SAD...
Then we've been all... HOW COME THERE IS A COYOTE IN SUCH A POPULATED AREA?! I mean, seriously, thunder... we live near a field (where we get to see lots of wildlife, much to our surprise) but we're pretty much off a main road with tons of traffic. That coyote being so close was WEIRD AND WILD STUFF.
