They're pretty cool.

Go dragonflies, go!

SCORE!!

Those are some awesome shots, thundra!!!

I don't know why, but we have a ton of dragonflies hanging around again. I don't think of our yard as being particularly dragonfly-friendly. It's not like we're on water, but they're here!

The heron makes me think of being up at the lake. Awesome birds.

Also, nice orb accent in the first one. Just a smattering of orbs!

Thx!

The 2nd has orbs, too. Bright red ones!

I've seen some Great Blue Herons a few times this spring and I count myself amazed. And I LOVE dragonflies!!!

Is there a kickback bee?

Sure thing, Mandos. And the Plumber bee has a big behind...

But none of them care much for the County Inspector Bee.

Always figured insects as big as hawks would factor into the downfall of humanity.

So beautiful where you live.

I was going more in the direction of "drones".

Mosquito eaters!

We have a Great Blue who swings by our place occasionally. I've seen him trolling up the creek, fishing. I've seen him fly over my head, 15 ft max.

Those damn bees eat holes in my stucco and my split rail fence. But ain't that yellow fuzz adorabibble!

Jim H., I have some closer pics (with action!) of a Great Blue Heron here.

There was a swan on the Lost Lagoon the other day. It was quite nice.

And now it is once again raining as if we should start building arks.
