Here's some pictures from German Village. I was going to include Mermaid Girl, etc. from Schiller Park, but there's too many...that will be another post.
Thanks S.C., no wonder I couldn't find it with the 'wildflower identifier' I generally use.
By the way, I walked through Frank Fetch Park earlier in the week when the head caretaker was out and about. He asked if I'd been able to identify the Bougainvillea. I said yes, with the help of a friend (but I didn't say, "with the help of one of my invisible internet friends from upsidedownland, Smut 'IF that is his real name' Clyde"). ~

Your "weird plant" is from Australia, so I have an excuse to recognise it:

we are ECCENTRIC, Alexia....
Actually, I am just out of round.
We have had a whole THREE summery days now!
We didn't defeat the Nazis so they could infiltrate our gardens. Fascist!

He asked if I'd been able to identify the Bougainvillea.
Suddenly I have a mental image of 6 Bougainvilleas standing in a police ID line-up.
Damn, I love looking at your photography under the influence of cannabis. purely medicinal of course, but it does change my perspective nonetheless.
Alexia meant 'peculiar' but is too polite to say it. Yes, they are peculiar, but we love the little scamps.
