Happy May Day 2011!

The Eastern Chipmunks have been around all three weeks I've been here, but they're only a little less camera-shy than the Pileated Woodpeckers. So here's a somewhat blurry photo:

Tufted Titmouse, Baeolophus bicolor, finally showed up at the feeder (along with some friends). As I'd already removed the 'bird blind', here's a picture from the closest available spot, the porch post:

One last visit to the lake:

This might be my best bumblebee photo ever (please note Crown of Pollen!):

If anyone wants to use "Please Do Not" photos, here are two more, with the benefit of sunlight:

Hey, thanks for the "Please do not" pics! I'll have to use them in one of my upcoming kooky and delightful entries.

This has to be one of your prettiest batches yet. It definitely feels like Spring...and that bee pic is so impressive.

PLEASE DO NOT STOP.

I like this 'cuz it could be a plea for sexual pleasure or instruction to walk off a short pier. Either way--FUN!

Seen in Munich once:
"Bitte die Schwäne NICHT füttern!"

Apparently my initial translation was not correct.

Google informs me that squirl-futtering is also forbidden.

Thanks, people!

I am back home. Nothing like opening the window and hearing the sweet sounds of I-70 to make me wish I was back in the woods.

Now you've enlisted the apiary community into your nefarious plans?

Well, at least you've almost made me enjoy spring. Almost.
