The columbine are pretty. Ours just opened.

I believe S.C. is correct, in fact those look like Bougainvillea (Spectoperuviana Group) 'Mary Palmer'.

I recall when I got one of my better Monarch butterfly pictures, it was on one of these bushes outside this same garage. I thought it was a hibiscus back then, but they have plenty of Mandevilla planted there, too. Maybe I'll ask next time some one is out there working on the garden.

And all the ones along the fence (I'm pretty sure they are Mandevilla) get replanted there each year.

P.S. I walked by the park where the Bougainvillea is, and I was told that plant gets taken inside in the winter.
