A Suet Day For Golf

So I went to Ace Hardware to get some nuthatch treats for the bird feeder.

After I left the store, the sleet/snow mix started to pick up. Immediately, one thought came to mind. That's right, Hitler GOLF!

Look at these quitting quitters! I bet they're Sarah Palin fans. Go ahead and quit, you big quitters!

My brother always used orange balls when golfing in snowy weather.

NUTHATCH TREATS?!?!!! I hope it works. Can I bribe you to put some in your hand and just stand out there forever?? Until one lands?? I got one to land in my hand full of sunflower seeds and then I spazzed at the fact that the bird actually did what they said it would and it flew off... My hand has been nuthatch-free ever since.

Sucky weather, thunder. It looks like fish is crying frozen tears from his freezer in the sky. HA!

I now appreciate our chilly, chilly temps, but dry ground, and sunshiny sky! But no nuthatches.

OK, I think this comment has been long enough. I had full-caff this morning.

I can't believe I just realized how wrong that sounded...

Beat to the punchline. Curse you self-realization!

I didn't lose any golf balls, the snow+sleet wasn't deep enough (nor were any of my shots wayward enough).

That suet mix attracts the nuthatches, woodpeckers, chickadees, and a couple other birds. I added a a couple pictures to show how it works. (I do have to get to South Carolina today...9 hours driving away.)

P.S. See this post for the suet in action.

Here I thought nuthatch was another word for zipper. THE MORE YOU KNOW!

Also, if you're going to golf in the Midwest in March, you better have an Icewedge in your bag.

Sure Brando, turn a perfectly innocent comment into something pervy.

Ah... the horndog subtleties...

Boehner also swears by orange balls.

Make sure Jonah Goldberg doesn't raid the feeder.

A mixture of nuthatches, woodpeckers and chickadees attracts vultures.

So, slather your car in suet! Problem solved!

ITTDGY is a suetable case for treatment.

That golf sequence is awesome, but I feel bad about the nuthatch threats.

Well I lived. The rain off the big semis was horrible. Not to mention, the drivers who would think they're going to pass those semis, and then can't deal with the amount of water hitting the windshield and just clog up the left lane instead.

By the way, it's funny S.C. mentioned vultures. Initially I was going to feature a couple of vulture shots under the tag, Nuthatch Pr0n. But closest pic didn't come out very sharp.

Any jokes about vulture feeding mixtures must credit the Monty Python Papperbok.
