David Bowie Bird

My contribution to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #121. And I"m also linking to Annii's I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. This Red-bellied Woodpecker flew in for a visit on the porch last week on Cacapon Mountain, and the light was just right.

Outside The Fence

My contribution to TexWiscGirl's Good Fences #54:

That's Jaxter, if I recall correctly. He used to always be behind the fence. Apparently, he has front-of-the-house privileges now. (And why do you think they call it a horse trail, anyway?)

Inside the fence...more fences:

Winter Beverages

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 327 is Drink.
Some pot roast and a glass of wine from the other evening.

Would you believe a cup of coffee in a wolfhound mug?

Here's a pic from Global Foods in Ashburn, Va.:

I bought a giant avocado. I didn't know if it would be good, but it was! (Should have bought more.)

Further business! TexWiscGirl's Good Fences #50 is up (as of yesterday). I had blogger's block this week. Kind of feeble, considering my blog is mainly pictures.

My Valuable Paring Knife

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 325 is Rubbery.

Funny thing...that stuff used to be around more when I was little. Now most everything is plastic. So here's one of my car tires.

The handle of this paring knife feels like rubber. Maybe it is?

In other birdness, the shadow knows!

I don't think I ever heard Guided By Voices until BLCKDGRD put me on to them.

A Ruff Job

My contribution to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #51.

Here is proof that there are funny people on the internet with a lot of time on their hands.

When life gives you wolfhounds, you post wolfhound pics.

Orbs Go Round And Round

My contribution to Carmi's Thematic Photographic 314 - Round and round:

This truck failed to go round and round properly on this turn. So he needed me to hold up traffic so he could back up and try again.

And the orbs helped too!

P.S. ORB rocket explodes:

Fanciest Fence Garden in German Village

My contribution to TexWisGirl's Good Fences 28.

Often I put up pictures of the long side view of this garden. I'm not the only one who stops and takes pictures, the owner puts a lot of work into it and he gets spectacular results. Here it is from the front of the house:

And the sides:

And Ms. Mermaid watches over the whole shebang:

Junk Drawer

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 310 is Messy.

Here is my junk drawer.

Here is an old backyard fence the morning glories have decided to beautify:

This wild garden grows between the back of a shed and a gravel parking lot. Every once in a while, it gets mowed down. But all the wildflowers come right back again.

A Friend With Limoncello Is A Friend Indeed

Limoncello in Berkeley Springs.

Closeup:

Here are Bambi and friends, anticipating B^4's arrival:

How about a Sachem, Delaware, or Fiery Skipper? Everyone can cast their vote.

P.S. More deer and antelope more deer play:

Strangers at a Pool

As you may have noticed, I rarely take pictures of people. But sometimes, it happens...and this also happens to be Carmi's theme this week.

In other news, I believe this is a tree swallow, watching over Lake Siri:

Doo Dah Parade, July 4th 2014

Your Doo Dah Parade Starter gets high with a little help from his friends (and Jameson).

This police car followed our Kasich protester the length of the parade route (in other words, was part of the act).

Best In Showing, imho.

P.S. Where have I seen the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile** and a bunch of cop cars before?
