Hairy, Red-Bellied, Downy

Michelle's Nature Notes (#347)~Rambling Woods is Nine Years Old…. Happy B-Day, Rambling Woods! These three woodpeckers all showed up at the suet feeder within six minutes yesterday.

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 364 is Tires.
Here's the right rear tire of the Thundermobile right after someone scraped it and zoomed off without stopping:

All in all, not so bad for the only vehicle vs. vehicle violence I've had with the car (a 2006 Honda Civic I bought in March of 2008).

I love seeing birds at a feeder! It's wonderful that humans are helping them in a time that so many are in decline.

I would love to have these beautiful birds in my garden. I hope the damage to your car is not expensive to repair

Didn't know you had HAIRY woodpeckers! Lovely bird! And that car looks in excellent condition for one so old - we used to have a Civic - great cars!

Wow look at that, not one but three woodpeckers coming in for lunch. Lucky you and your capture!

That red-bellied fellow was recently at my place—over the holidays!

So sorry about your car. Glad you weren't hurt!

Happy New Year!

Those woodpeckers sure love their suet! I'm planning on making pinecone feeders with some pan drippings and birdseed. Sorry to hear about your car run-in, but I'm glad that you and the car are okay.

The Woodpeckers are beautiful. We don't have them here in my part of the world but I really like the red one. Your photos make me think I should get a bird feeder for our yard, especially in Winter when food is scarcer for them. It's Summer here in Tasmania & the birds make the most of our birdbath. Too bad about your car scrape. At least the damage wasn't too severed.

Thank you for the blog birthday greetings. I am sorry your car got banged up. Someone ran into the back of my husband's car last May and totaled it. As we keep our cars forever this was annoying.... I love all my woodpeckers and welcome them to the suet... You stay warm. We can handle a lot of snow here, but you don't have the equipment there so people better stay put. We miss out on this one...Michelle

WE have to wait a little longer before our woodpeckers will reappear. Shame about the scrape.
