Carmi's Thematic 205 is Broken.
This old swing set is decaying in the woods. I wonder if ghost children play on it at night, amongst the orbs?
And now for a bit of dragonfly blogging. This is a Halloween Pennant, Celithemis eponina.
An Eastern Amberwing (aka the Flying Cheeto), in a rare moment of repose.
How about some turtles?

A snake by the lake
Northern water snake, Nerodia sipedon
Other Beesness:
I never see the Red-spotted Purple near any flowers. My photo opportunities come when one lands on the asphalt or dark gravel. Here's a poem by May Swenson.

Final Orange Post
One last ORANGE post. (Until the next one.)
Here is a Pearl Crescent Butterfly, Phyciodes tharos.
And swimming in Lake Siri, a three foot long goldfish.
Now for some rain movies.
And orbs!

Orange You Glad To See Me?
Carmi's Thematic Photographic 204 is Orange.
Would you believe these flowers are orange? At least when compared to the Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail?
Heck, it was worth a shot. Here we have the Eastern Amberwing, Perithemis tenera.
And now for some blues.
Widow Skimmer Dragonfly - Libellula luctuosa
Erythemis simplicicollis, Common Pondhawk
Red-spotted Purple, Limenitis arthemis
UPDATE: Orange Crush video and Imperial moth, Eacles imperialis

Saturday Butterflies 7.14.2012
Here's a site where you can compare butterfly species side by side. It was helpful in determining whether the big yellow butterfly was an Appalachian Tiger Swallowtail or an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.
UPDATE: Bonus Sunday Great Spangled Fritillary on Bull Thistle flower pictures.

Rough Road Ahead
Carmi's Thematic Photographic 203 is Transportation
I transported myself up to the Overlook at Cacapon State Park via the Thundermobile on Monday.
Tired of driving? You can head down to the beach and rent a paddle boat.
