Shouldn't the first alt text be "always look bee-fore you cross"?

I made it your way, Mandos.

Zrm, I wasn't trying to deflect a Zardoz. I'm just trying to avoid a May-like posting slump.

These are lovely...and I'm glad to see you're no longer glorifying the unhealthy lifestyle of those anorexic bees.

I don't think I am at fault when a bee gets all up in my grill.

I love the Widow Skimmer. Is that a bug that is regional or widespread across these here United States?

Dusty,Hells most vocal Bitch said...

Fuck the anorexic bees..we should not encourage those types of bees..they give all the other bees a complex.

The Widow Skimmer is a relatively common dragonfly with this range:

Ontario and Atlantic Coast to Georgia and Gulf Coast, west to Texas and northern Mexico, north to South Dakota.

Stag Beetle?

Nope. Calling Bullshit.

That's what every teenage boy from Ukraine to Upsidedownland knows is called a "Stinkbug".

And even if you can't smell 'em, that just means he ain't pissed off yet...

Dusty,Hells most vocal Bitch said...

Well shit Thunder..does that include Cali fer chrissakes?

ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© said...

Here's a stinkbug, mikey.

That's a female stag beetle, and this is what the male looks like.

Dusty, those skimmers are not found west of Texas, but there are some others that may be out in California. Western Pondhawk, perhaps?

Well, here I am waiting to get stung. This comment thread seems a little anaphylactic.

This is what we called a stinkbug back in that land of California when I was a kid.

I saw one of those widow skimmers in Montana last month. Cool bug.

I remember when I lived in AZ and the friggin bees/bugs in general were so huge, they looked like b52's coming in..and you could hear them before you saw them.

We should all bee thankful.

I used to love Bees. Then that darn Jerry Seinfeld starred in "A Bee Movie" and they've never been the same for me. :(
I hate him.
