Dark and Orby Night on Cacapon Mountain

My contribution to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #143 and Anni's I'd-Rather-B-Birdin'.

It was a dark and orby night:

So this tree frog came out to catch bugs on the sliding glass door. He/she/it/Hyla versicolor was doing well, I saw two captures.

Now for some porch birds:

Here's Lady of the Lake, Theda. Note the leaves are starting to fall:

Great shot of your nocturnal visitor and the birds. Is Theda hoping to catch a fish?

Love the birds of course [they're getting used to the feeder on the porch/deck now!!!
And love the reference to "lady of the lake"

Also, sweet photo of the frog.

I will thank you again for participating in our birdin' experiences at I'd Rather B Birdin'.

By the way, I left a light on for the tree frog. It's a low energy bulb by the sliding door, so what the heck!

Hello!:) What a fun capture of the little frog,..a light left on for the frog, so what the heck, made me smile. How about this one. When it rains, hubby holds an umbrella over Mel our dog, when she goes for a wee wee!!:)

Birds, mammals, amphibians! Yesterday I went to a Hummingbird Festival, and one of the speakers presented a program on animal sounds. Part of the presentation was a quiz. He played recorded animal sounds and we (the audience) guessed if they were made by a bird, a mammal, or an amphibian. Lots of fun!
Have a great week!

I love that tree frog. It's been a few years since I've seen one, though I hear their mating calls in the spring.
