My contribution to EileeninMd's Saturday's Critters #83:
Usually chipmunks head for a hole in the ground when frightened, but this one tried to brazen it out on the tree while I was walking Theda. Eventually he/she/chipmunk ran for it...until then Theda had her nose to the ground and didn't even notice.
Here are a couple of butterflies for Weekend Butterfly #06 at Andyslens:
A few birds who visited the suet feeder this week:

cute chippy! we don't get them here. had them all over the place in wisconsin, though. and their gopher cousins. :) cute theda. love the tiny pearl crescent butterflies, too.
Good morning, love the chipper! Your Theda is interested in something in the grasses. Beautiful butterflies and birds. Great photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Oh, fantastic shots !! I love the first shot and this cute chippy :))))
Have a nice weekend !
Theda's looking for that chipmunk a minute after he or she finally decide to abandon the little tree trunk, Eileen.

Good try Theda, but they're fast little critters! I really like your butterfly and the stealth like body of it, very cool! Have a fun weekend!
Love chipmunks! Explore has a chipmunk cam set up at Lake Dillon, CO and I pop over there occasionally to see if they are out and about. So fun to watch! Great series of butterflies and birds, too! Have a nice weekend!
Thanks for participating in Weekend Butterfly.
I can't for the life of me remember the name of the same brown butterfly. But I'll remember when I close this comment ;)
Bounteous, Boyeeeee!
Aloha
Butterflies - can't get enough of them. Thanks for taking us on your walk!
Beautiful shots, I would love to see a chipmunk :)
the chipmunk is almost invisible on the treetrunk :) Nice shot!
Cute chipmunk!
Title sounds like some idiotic military deal: Operation Bold Chipmunk!
Wonderful set of critters.
Theda thinks the chipmunk is in the grass! Love the woodpecker on the feeder!
The Eastern Swallowtail looks a lot like our Western Swallowtails. The chipmunk is cute, they seem less rascally than squirrels. Theda is probably not up to finding chipmunks? The birds at the feeder seem like the ones that come to feeders here more in the winter. I like the woodpecker, especially.
The Pearl Crescent is a really lovely butterfly. A smashing name for it too.
Nice collection of pictures - I'd like to have the woodpeckers in my garden!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
I remember my mother being so aggravated at the chipmunks who nibbled on her tomatoes!
Chipmunks! I love to watch the Chipmunks Disneyland cartoon! So cute! Lovely post!
Wonderful nature shots ~ love the chipmunk and your doggie does what mine does ~ stick her nose into where the chipmunk went ~ Great shots!
Happy Week to you,
artmusedog and carol
It's so cool that you were able to get so close to the chipmunk. They are comical little critters.
It's funny. I thought of your blog title today. We've had a tornado/storm warning on and off again about every two hours!
You got some great visitors to your garden.
That reminds me - I need to buy some more suet :)
Have a Great Week!
Peace :)
Love the chipmunk!
Wonderful!!
We have so much fun watching our chipmunks too.
I have only seen a chippy here once, but this would be good habitat for them.... Michelle
