I was able to show off because of these posts. I was at my bro in law's a couple weeks ago and he was flat GOING OFF about the woodpeckers who peck the side of the house. Apparently it sounds like an industrial apocalypse.
So I asked him: Was the woodpecker piliated? Or of the non piliated variety? He looked at me like I was speaking bulgarian, but upon doing a modicum of googling it was determined that they were indeed piliated...

Those ducks have got a waddle on!
And I learned that a sapsucker is a woodpecker :)
They're pretty stylish, aren't they?

Num num num! Sauteed with olive oil, white wine, & rosemary, served over wild rice with a side of asparagus.
What time's dinner, dude?
Call me what you want, just don't call me late for dinner. Especially when it's fowl!
That red-bellied woodpecker looks so happy. The ones by me always seem so angry.
I think your bird felt that he'd not been treated with the proper respect, B^4. Like he'd been roughed up by the TSA at the airport.

Pileated Woodpeckers are spectacular, mikey.
Something you might tell your brother in law: Those woodpeckers won't wreck your house, they're looking for carpenter ants.
The carpenter ants are wrecking the house.
