Teabaggers Ball Begins This Weekend!

Kathy Kiely, USA TODAY

Not terrible, Kathy, but you left out Glenn Beck and FAUX News.

The corporate media's obsession with these sockpuppets is sad. They happily ignored genuine grassroots opposition to the Iraq War. Of course, the Iraq War served corporate profits, specifically those of the defense and energy industries. And this teabagger movement protects health insurance industry profits.

W. Mark Felt to Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, early 1970s: "Follow the money".

The Washington Post under Donald Graham: "Worship the money".

UPDATE: It's the Associated Press, people!

Here's what's clear: This is pure people-driven politics facilitated by the Internet. This is an ideological mix of libertarianism and conservatism with the common denominator being lower spending and smaller government. This is a loose collection of citizen groups with no leader but many voices. And this is the product of long-simmering anger.
What's clear is that the A.P. is as full of crap as FAUX News.

Teabaggers 9/12 and assorted astroturfing, American Idiot, and Billionaires for Wealthcare

A nation of teabaggers, controlled by the media

P.S. ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© Enterprises, LLC, LP, LDHA, and such as proudly announces our endorsement of

Billionaires for Wealthcare

By the way, Patients First is a project of Americans for Prosperity™:

One of the key conservative interests groups helping to organize the town hall protests we’ve been covering. The speaker repeats the debunked conservative canard that Democratic health care reform will mandate physician assisted suicide. “Adolf Hitler issued six million end of life orders–he called his program the final solution. I kind of wonder what we’re going to call ours.”

And after comparing Democratic health care reform efforts to the murderous regimes of Hitler, Stalin, and Pol Pot, the speaker advises his audience to “go to offices of members of Congress and put the fear of god in them.”

UPDATED FOR THE LOLS!1!

And yes, it is past time to put up the cobag tag.

REUPDATE!

From the fine folks at Wizbang, who are expert countermentaters:

Thomas Lifson quoted Dan Bana, a spokesman for the National Parks Service, as saying that the 9/12 protest was "a record ... We believe it is the largest event held in Washington, D.C., ever."

Right.

P.S. REUPDATE ii!

A brief interruption to extend Congrats to HTML Mencken and the Sadly, Naughts

Glenn Greenwald today:

As HTML Mencken insightfully noted in what is one of the best blog posts ever written, our political mores demand vehement repudiation of petty acts of incivility (not all, but most) while tolerating and even approving of extremely consequential acts of indecency as long as they're advocated with superficial civility.

We will return to posting pictures from our National Parks in short order.

Looking at the Right

Looking at the Left decides to look the other way.

I see a need for health care. Lots of it.

Free Market Solutions™?

Tort Reform?

The Right. Wrong as usual.

UPDATE

This is central to my point:

Brought to you by Emusevier

Brought to you by Emusevier, the world's largest publisher of medical and scientific literature:

Inducing relaxation in the queen conch Strombus gigas

Five potential relaxant chemicals were evaluated: 2-phenoxyethanol, menthol crystals, benzocaine, MS-222, and magnesium chloride to induce relaxation in the queen conch for cultured pearl production.
...
Only 30 g L− 1 magnesium chloride induced adequate relaxation in S. gigas to attempt pearl seeding. Conch exposed to all other treatments, except 0.25 g L− 1 menthol, showed a strong ‘kicking’ (escape) reaction during the initial 2 min to 7 min of exposure. After such reaction, conch retracted into their shells and within the 30 min exposure period they showed no signs of relaxation.

Maybe they should have tried the classics?
