Far Out

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 343 is Far from Home. The furthest I've been is to Maui, followed by Argentina. Back then I just had film cameras, and none of the shots are available here. (I'd take pictures of the pictures, if I could.) This pic is out west from the earlier days of my blog.

And here is my contribution to TexWiscGirl's Good Fences #71:

Update: I sometimes forget that Nature Notes is something you do in advance. This is my contribution to Nature Notes (#322). Here's a butterfly party down by Lake Siri:

For Skywatch Friday - July 30, 2015 Edition, a pic from Cacapon Mountain looking over Berkeley Springs (you can't see the town because it's behind the foothills):

Also, looking north over Lake Siri at Cacapon Mountain:

Curvaceous

Thematic Photographic 248 - Curvaceous

This statue is in front of the Ohio Statehouse. I think that is General William Tecumseh Sherman in front.

This curvaceous rock is in the Grand Canyon. I took the picture in 2009.

Grand Canyon - Grandview Trail

Since I can't find the pictures from my trip to Yuma during the record heat wave back in 2007, I'm going to post some more from my visit to the Grand Canyon just a month earlier.

This was a hike down the Grandview Trail.

Allow extra hiking time because of trail conditions. Plan on taking twice as long to hike up as it took to hike down.

In my case, I hiked down for about 1 3/4 hours, and back up in 2. I was taking pictures on the way down or there would have been a bigger discrepancy.

I'm hoping to have pictures from Mount Taylor in a few weeks, as I have to visit the area for work.

My left foot

These pictures came from a trip for work to Arizona. I had to fly into Phoenix, visit a couple of properties, and then drive up to Page. I timed the trip so I'd hit the Grand Canyon on Friday afternoon, and then fly back home on Sunday.

I'm going to have to visit NW New Mexico soon. I hope to do some hiking on Mount Taylor.
