Groundhog, Tiny Toads, Canada Geese

My contribution to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #133.
This is a Cacapon Mountain hedgehog groundhog (aka woodchuck, thanks to Eileen for noting that).

Here's Cacapon Mountain behind Lake Siri:

As I mentioned last post, tiny toad season is here!

Here's a slightly bigger one:

I'm also linking to Anni's I'd Rather B' Birdin'. Happy Canada Day (yesterday) to the Lake Siri geese!

Mouse over pics for captions, and click them for larger versions.

Hello, cute froggies. The hedgehog is it the same as a groundhog? Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your 4th of July weekend!

Love your little frogs. I clicked on some of your photos and they are So much more impressive when enlarged - especially the lake!

Oops, I meant groundhog, Eileen! Groundhog and woodchuck are the same.

But not hedgehog, doh.

Absolutely fabulous photo of the lake with the Canada Geese!!!!
And the tiny toads...those are TEENY tiny. And cute as a button.

The woodchuck reminds me of how much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. There....got that out of my system.

Thanks for sharing all of these goodies today at I'd Rather B Birdin'.
Happy weekend.

This is spectacular news, because it means that we'll soon have our very own tiny toads hopping around the place. Right now, the green frogs are making their badly-tuned plucked string call in the pond and the gray tree frogs are trilling in the trees.

Sorry, here's the green frog poorly playing that banjo.

Cute tiny toads! We have many along the shore of our lake in Florida but unfortunately many grow up to be huge poisonous and venomous Cane Toads.
