My contribution to Eileeninmd's Saturday's Critters #129. Here's my first dragonfly picture of the year, a juvenile Common Whitetail:
First butterfly pics of the year: A Fiery Skipper. (I think, skipper identification can be tricky.)
I'm also contributing to Carmi's Thematic Photographic 371 - By the water's edge. Here's a pair of mallards at Broad Branch creek in D.C.
Remember that place that had a horse roaming outside on the horse trail? It seems the chickens get to come out and play sometimes, too. I thought I'd get a pic before seeing if I could get closer (I'm also linking to Anni's I'd Rather B Birdin'):
Turned out to be no problem. They all ran right up.
It's been a while since my left foot made an appearance:

Hello, wonderful captures. I like the dragonfly and the skipper. The chickens are cute! Wonderful collection of photos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy day and week ahead!
Chickens always make me chuckle. Enjoyed your dragonfly and skipper pic too. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great Sunday :)
Every time I see chickens [in person] I always think of my sister who has a fear of chickens. I don't know why either. I like 'em.
Great photos, and love the left foot!!
Thanks for sharing this week at I'd Rather B Birdin'. Always appreciated.
Mallards are my favourite Ducks. I love the Green heads on the Males. Great shots of the Dragonfly & Butterfly. I'm not good with insect shots, they usually fly away before I click the shutter. Chooks (Chickens) are always fun to watch
I love the skipper and the chicken are cute. Have a great week!
Beautiful shots.
a dragonfly I have never seen. Looks nice :)
Those chickens sure aren't... wait for it... chicken.
Hopefully not kickin' chickens...
Great capture of the dragonfly!
Love those chickens! When you get to know them they are not as stupid as people say!! And the butterflies are so colourful. Bit sparse round here as yet!
Well done on the dragonfly capture! So far I haven't had much luck snapping a photo of one!
I think I could manage one of my left foot just to join you!
Fiery Skipper - I love the name and the looks of that insect.
how exciting to begin your summer captures, i love when the critters make it easy for us!!!!!!
Awwww....love those chickens!
I'll have to start watching for the dragonflies. I'm not seeing many butterflies yet either. The chickens were happy to see you!
Wonderful shots. I like it.
You live in a cool place
We have so many dragonflies around here this year. I love to see them.
