Painted Ladies and more

My contribution to eileeninmd's Saturday's Critter's #47:

Butterflies won't be around for much longer this year. I saw these Painted Ladies at Schiller Park last week.

The sound of cicadas is gone already.

There are still some honeybees around:

The Schiller Park ducks (and geese, I think) will be around all winter.

Mouse over pics for captions, and click them for larger versions.

Nice to see the last of the butterflies. I haven't seen one here north of Toronto for a while so I fear the season is over.

Lovely butterflies - and look at the colours on that cicada!! Are they all such fancy dressers?

Answer to my own question - apparently so :) http://www.teara.govt.nz/en/cicadas

you really have shared a great array of different critters.

I heard a cicada the other day...but for the most part, they're gone.

The butterflies are pretty, but I am amazed at the color designs on the cicada, so artistic. Lovely photos.

Thanks, people!

Jim H., I just love photography. Before the digital age, I used to take pictures with my Canon EOS 650 and never get them developed. Getting them developed was expensive...
