Carmi's Thematic Photographic 259 is Sadness.
The Denver Broncos beat the Baltimore Ravens 49 to 27 last night. However, it was Peyton Manning, not former Bronco QB John Elway, who threw 7 touchdown passes. This sort of sadness is routine for the Columbus Dispatch.
This poor fish has quit his carping.

That's too depressing a theme. (And I don't want to publish pictures of myself.)
On the other hand, you touched a toad? Yikes!!
Don't think so much.
You'll hurt the ball club...
I always knew that 'carpe diem' meant 'seize the fish'!
Wood ears?
You been toad licking again, thundra?
Wood ear is an affliction found in Metallica fans innit?
I think that the Dispatch did very well to even know that there was the footingball thing happening. Oh, yes, they got one of the players wrong but eventually that thing will happen with Whosit Manning.
It's all about brains these days.
Jim H., I thought it meant "the carp died".

Seven touchdown passes??? You do speak English, don't you?? Mystery to me;)
Poor fish, lack of oxygen? In the very, very hot spell we had a few weeks ago over 100 carp, dace and pike died in our lake. The council workers tried to pump aerated water into the lake (actually, it was lake water recycled) which did work a bit.
Like the toad, we have a resident toad, but he is much lighter than yours.
Fungi never get sad because they're FUN!!!

I do it quite often. If they're freaked out, they pee on your hand.
I don't find sadness in that headline, I find hilarity.
Also, the link said they flipped back and forth between Manning and Elway throughout the article.
What I do find sad is that John Elway hasn't played football in 15 years. How fast did THAT time go?! So fast is how fast.
Also, since I'm a Browns fan, John Elway can eat it.
