Spring Comes to Cacapon Mountain

Here are some Downy Woodpeckers enjoying a Suet Deluxe™ meal.

The mountain started putting on its green suit this week.

Speaking of green suits, here's a Six-Spotted Tiger Beetle (not to be confused with the cursed Emerald Ash Borer).

Here's a Gerri bug.

Last but not least, Theda shows how one is supposed to drink a creek.

P.S. For the non-Biggie-sizers amongst us:

Yes, I can see the leaves in the background - greener every day, all right! Lucky you :)

I really like that beetle too! Great pictures, as always.
Wish Spring would come here. :(

If you open the last picture in a new window, you can see tiny water orbs on the mite web strand.

I am often in a puddle of something-or-other when I drink.

Lovely woodpeckers and little insects. You are very clever - and patient, methinks!

Now if my dog tried to drink like that his ears would be floating and get soaking wet!!

And how lovely to see green leaves on trees!

You had me at the water droplets :) Seriously...amazing series. The GREEN on that beetle is surreal.

You're inspiring me to get my camera out more often. I've been lagging.
