Beautiful! And I loved the captions that popped up when I held my cursor over the photos. And such as.
Very nice, Thunder.
Groovy roads!Once again, very nice. It's hard to take a bad picture of the NM scenery, but these are sublime. No photos of driving back down in the dark??
Thanks, people!Jennifer, I did have some qualms as I raced the sunset to get to the top. I drove many miles of that dirt road, which was for long stretches too narrow to turn around in. Not to mention, washboardy, groovy, and such as.But I made it to the top in the Ford Focus (rental!) just in time. I hiked around in Red Rock S.P. and took those pictures earlier that afternoon, then leadfooted it from from Gallup to Grants and up the mountain.~
Are the two guys in the icons (for lack of a better word) on the map burying bodies? Is that a state-approved disposal site?
You know, sunset off the entrance of Carlsbad Caverns is pretty amazing: the plain just fades off into the haze. And the bats come out. In the morning they make little whiffing noises as they dive back down inside.
There is a bat cave at El Calderon, S McG. I went up to the edge of it, it had quite the smell.I still have pics to post from El Morro and El Calderon from 8.22.09.~
New Mexico is one of the few states in the US I've never been - and I long to go.Beautiful pix
Great photos, and "prickly" made me laugh.
Bat Guano-quite the smell. LOL
Bat Guano-quite the smell. LOLIt smelled like home cooking. Or a republican talking about health care insurance.~
I want to go! So pretty.
