We have a great blue that comes wading up the creek behind my house on occasion. Flies low overhead seeing if the goldfish in my pond are large enough yet to eat. I think they grow 'em bigger down here, though.; June 24, 2014 at 12:17 PM

Jim H. said...: Saw a large great blue flying overhead last night at dusk while walking the dog. For a flash, when I saw its silhouette coming over the top of the trees against the late sky (there was a rainbow, btw), I felt like it could've been a pterodactyl. It was a fantastic reaction, I know. But I had what must have been a primitive human's reaction: take the dog and get under a tree quick!
