One Way

Or Another

Here's another windows shot. This is Downtown Columbus.

I looked up the building I took pictures of in my last post. It is the Born Capital Brewery Bottle Works, being rehabbed with an assist from the government.
An Edwards affiliate bought the building at 570 S. Front St. from Grange Mutual Casualty Group in 2007 for nearly $2.3 million. The three-story building is the sole remnant of the Born Capital Brewery, one of four German breweries concentrated along South Front Street during the late 1800s and early 1900s. The building, which once served as the Born bottling operation, dates to 1895.

The redevelopment project, Edwards said, hinged on getting the building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which lists sites of historical, cultural or architectural significance. Buildings on the register can qualify for government historic preservation tax credits.
...
“Without going on the register, you can’t get the rehab tax credits,” he (Jeff Edwards) said. “(They) made the project, even in this economy, much more economically viable.”

Windows in German Village

Carmi's newest thematic photographic is Windows. The first two are of a building that was vacant and abandoned for most of the years I've been here (some windows were boarded up, but a lot were just missing). About a year ago, restoration was begun.

Not only did this window in German Village catch my eye, I like that tree, too.

One of the nice sunsets we've been getting around here lately.

What's For Dinner?

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 220 is What's for dinner?

I personally have never bought any lobsters from Kroger. But here they are, handcuffed with rubber bands, awaiting their fate.

P.S. It's been far too long since Applebee's was mentioned on this blog.
