A Plethora of Walnuts

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 263 is Multiples

What if you had multiple walnuts?

Fall is arriving in Berkeley Springs.

To cast a caterpillar spell, you need a caterpillar wand.

Is that a "PLETH'-er-uh" or a "pleth-OR'-uh"?

Nice pics. Always enjoyable.

I will trade you the clams for the walnuts.

Great photos.

Love the walnuts! And come to think of it, we have multiple leaves on our lawn........

And a truly beautiful caterpillar - does it make a beautiful moth or butterfly?

Jim H., I will defer to El Guapo.

Gilly, the first caterpillar is an Isabella Tiger Moth. The second is a Banded Tussock Moth (Halysidota tessellaris).

I had forgotten El Guapo. Haven't seen it in years. Funny!

I hope the squirrels are not collecting those walnuts to bury in my lawn.

Looks like Mr. or Ms. Woolly Bear says it's going to be a mild winter down your way, Thunder. Such beautiful moths.

Jim H - I think it's PLETHeruh.

It's a pity you need a special nutcracker to deal with the hard shells of those black walnuts. The green outer "case" of the fruit has a lovely citrus aroma, but those things can stain your hands.
