My 2nd bite of the apple: Carmi's Thematic Photographic 216, Fall Colors. These pictures were all taken at Scioto Audubon Metro Park on Saturday.
These are a few of the large group of egrets and herons that were having great success fishing in the Scioto River.
Blackpoll Warbler, perhaps? They were slightly smaller than the nearby sparrows, and more determined to stay in the marsh grass.
These fungi were the size of salad bowls (the largest was about a foot in diameter). Polypores, I presume.

No matter what I have done, as I look back over my life, I have no egrets...
I think I was gulled a few times too many.

Pigface!
Not you, the flower -- its a Caprobrotus of some kind.
Somebody should model actual bowls after those fungi. They are so cool-looking. Then again, if they're edible, it would be awesome to eat out of them.

Once bittern, twice shy.
its a Caprobrotus of some kind.
In fact, from the small size of the leaves & flowers, I'm gonna change that to Drosanthemum.
But the Pigface still stands?
Great colours on those trees - and the egrets and herons are lovely.
Love the fungi bowls, with their contents - great capture :)
I so want my own fungi bowls...so cute! My most delighted photo of your 2nd batch...is the red boat-of course it captured my heart! Great mix here again!
cool fiery autumn colors and birds...and the little butterfly...but those FUNGI BOWLS are the best!
Thanks, people!
By the way, JohnR is right, the bird in the march grass is a goldfinch.
I'm used to seeing ones that are brighter and more goldfinchy.

The Shroomman Cometh.
Glad I was able to duck that bird pun thread that those old coots were having.

Heron the dog.
*cough* *looks at watch, taps foot* Sir, I believe you owe us a fresh batch of orbs, cats and butterflies.
You're right, vs. I lost my posting-fu.
Maybe it's in a closet or dresser drawer somewhere...
