It appears the squirrel is afraid of the rubber spider :)

Your Wheelie Buses are different than our Wheelie Buses, though I imagine you've encountered a pool of vomit just like the one I did yestereve.

Greetings, Boris.

That's a D.C. Metrobus. They look like spacecraft going by.

Quite a change from when I'd ride a series of them to get to and from High School back in the 1970s.

That is exactly the kind of speedra that started my fear... my grandmother would put one of those fake, bad boys by her plants to "scare" others away. I saw one just like it in my parents' rock garden and went to pick it up, expecting fake. WRONG!

Thanks, thudner... thanks for making me relive it all over again...

Our old school bus was pretty funky too

Even if I didn't already love this season, your recent entries and photos would be more than enough to change my mind. Bring it on!

Oh, good, I'm helping Carmi, too!

A.K., my freshman year of H.S. I took the school bus. One morning our bus driver crashed it into a brick wall.

thudner has developed an apparent habit of triggering me Something Fierce

So I fully expect him to post the WaPoop review of the new Mekons album at any moment, as it is idiotic and consists of two short paragraphs and seven factual errors.

A thorny mix of antiquey folk, squalling punk and Weimar-era cabaret...

zombie rotten mcdonald said...

See?

They obviously have no idea what "squalling punk" consists of.

zombie rotten mcdonald said...

thorny, yes.

zombie rotten mcdonald said...

Best description, however, is thudner's:

"tasty, incomprehensible music."

zombie rotten mcdonald said...

Squalling punk.

In "Nutkin Sings the Blues", Nutkin revisits the raw angst of earlier works such as "I'm Gonna Raid The Birdfeeder" and "Blue Jay Is Pissing Me Off".

The trippy acorndelia of "High In ZRM's Attic" is nowhere to be found.

Here's how stupid I am.
For about 30 seconds, I thought the spider was real....

See what you're dealing with here?

I was going to ask what kind of horrible/mutant/alien spider that was... Now I feel dumb. Thatll teach me not to embiggen.

Brando said...

Just wait until squirrels learn to use tools the way fish do. It will be the end of us all.

I've got to remember to wear my glasses when I read your blog. At first glance, the spider looked real.

ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© said...

The mushrooms the spider is on look surprisingly fake...like melted styrofoam bowls, or something.

But they're real. I wonder if they're edible?

lisahgolden said...

Would you like me to be the taste tester. I've very little to lose.

lisahgolden said...

It's also possible that I've eaten more potentially dangerous things. Ahem.

ifthethunderdontgetya™³²®© said...

Those mushrooms are back in West Va., I'm in Ohio now (he grumped).

My mushroom post is almost ready, maybe some good Samaritan will identify them (now up to 15 photos, and counting).

I might have to put up a junk food post just because the fungus among us is still not finished.

Skwirl photograph reminds me that in the UK, the particular department of MI5 tasked with tapping phones used to be known within the intelligence fraternity as the Secret Squirrels.

Check which houses are supplied by the phone cable on which skwirl is sitting.

Ah, better - I just had to get that out of my system.
