Broadway "At" The Beach is actually about 1.2 miles from the beach. It's been so long since I was at/in the ocean, I can hardly remember when the last time was. And I love the ocean! It's why I moved to Ohio!
P.S. Bonus Pic: Dramatic Eastern Fox Squirrel.
UPDATE: More pictures, and some Eastern Fox Squirrel Information from the series of tubes:

Wow, I grew up with a lot of fox squirrels, but they looked nothing like the Dramatic Eastern Fox Squirrel! Funky.
thunder- we have oceans of corn. Woo-hoo!
Yeah, would I get a bit claustrophobic if I lived too far from the ocean. I live about 3h away right now and that is about as far as I would ever want to be.
Only the ones from South Carolina have that look, Jennifer.
fish, I'm sure you can head across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge any Friday in the summer and be there in a jiffy!
;)
I too grew up (in a way) where there were lots of squirrels but I am unfamiliar with the Dramatic Eastern Fox Squirrel. Iz they gud eatin? Squirrels iz fun to shoot and eat.
Who would want to live near the ocean? It's full of terrorists!
so the bird is named Myrtle?

Yeah, would I get a bit claustrophobic if I lived in a freezer...
thundra- any explanation for the zaniness of the SC fox squirrel?? Is this what happens when one spends too much time hiking on the Appalachian Trail?
Those weird squirrels are spectacularly uncute.
Squirrel is cute & EVIL! Best of all possible combos.
Meanwhile, "Peter" is venturing to Huckabee country, looking for road kill.
Eastern fox squirrel=honey squirrel
Oceans and Florida smell like old people.
That squirrel has gills.
I haven't lived away from eyeshot of the ocean (or bay) in a very long time. I need to see the water to calm down. though maybe some really cool mountains would do it. I like seeing pics of SLC. people there seem calm.
That squirrel looks like it's wearing an executioner's hood.
Great pic of the squirrel. Never saw one before, even tho' I was born in SC and grew up in NC. Seen black ones before, and white ones, but never those.
I've run that very stretch of beach at MB before. Great beach for running. I was just at the SC coast last week too: Hilton Head. Ran every day.
