Lake and Mountain

Carmi's Thematic Photographic 346 is Where You Work. I'm going with "Where You Take Pictures."

The Lake:

The Mountain:

Here's my butterfly weed experiment. Will there be enough sun in front of the house? Will some critter just eat it? Did I dig deep enough to get enough taproot?

Here's some butterfly weed in action:

I'm also linking to Michelle's Nature Notes (#325). Mouse over pics for captions, and click them for larger versions.

Pretty view of the mountain and the lake. And the butterfly weed looks like it is working. Great captures, enjoy your day!

I'd say the beautiful butterfly weed is doing a great job. Love that picture!

Either is great for Nature Notes but I put in this one. Your name tag decided to go wonky in the linky. It doesn't like the little symbols on any language that is not English or other stuff... picky... I have never tried to transplant butterfly weed. It has taken a while to establish in my yard with plants. I have had some common and pink come up from seed. Good luck to it and to you...Michelle

I had not heard of the butterfly weed but it obviously works.

I would love to plant this butterfly weed in my garden to attract the butterflies!

Thanks people! I should note the pic with all the butterflies came from a meadow down by the lake. I transplanted one shoot for a test to see if there's enough light up in front of the house, which is up the mountain some.
