Red-winged Blackbird, Eastern Redbud

This is a male Red-winged Blackbird. You can hear his song here.

P.S. The mystery flower from my last post has been identified. Grecian windflower, Anemone blanda:

Great photos, good music, but is there any coffee left? Enjoy your day.

It's always interesting to see how far behind WVa is from ATL. Spring's crazy green around here.

Thanks!

Coffee went pretty quick this morning.

Better late than never, right, Jim?

I love the trill of the red-wing, it's my favorite harbinger of spring.

The loon is still on our property- it's been a week. I think the killdeer have a nest in a field as well. It's been a great year for birds so far.

Have you made a redbud salad yet?

Okay, I'm thinking, on my second visit here today, birdie number one is being very reflective as he's singing or rather tweeting his tune!
