Weekend Lepidoptera

This weekend featured a party on Saturday at a friend's house, and Comfest Sunday. More pics to come (as always, click on pic for a bigger version).

It's been a good butterfly season so far.

No butterflies with banjos though...

I'm afraid that taking pictures of people playing music is the full extent of my musical talent, BBBB.

P.S. I have identified those little orange butterflies: Gorgone Checkerspot, Chlosyne gorgone.

At first I thought they might be a Painted Lady or Red Admiral. They look similar.

One of those Painted Lady pics did resemble my subjects.

Maybe the professionals at the Old Entomologist could weigh in.

P.S. Those two were a pair, I took a similar picture earlier in which they were right next to each other. They were flying around together.

After exhaustive consultations with two blokes in the Squid and Cockle Bar at the O.E. I am guessing that The ones with the colours and the wings, that don't make honey are the butterflies.
I like the Black Swallowtail.
