Whatta maroon.

The D of I says life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness

If life is enumerated as a right, is not maintenance of that life also part of that right?

And the CONSTUSHUN spells out, in Declaration one, I believe, that pthe purpose of governemnt is to 'promtoe the general welfare'. If providing a method of health insurance for the greatest number of people does not clearly fall under these items, what does?

What is the problem with these people? What are they actually getting at here? Do they really think it is better if MORE people die needlessly? MORE people lose their houses or go bankrupt trying to pay for health care?

On second thought, don't answer that.

I really, really loved Pantload's Bush-era colum stating "the government should mind its own business".

ZRM I think it's not actual malevolence I think it is an unwillingness to engage with reality. Hence "I'm alright, therefore screw anything else"
The "I" is all that matters

Damn that fish!

P.S. Incompetent wingnut hack contest? Jonah Goldberg, William Kristol, Michael Gerson, or Marc Thiessen? (Note the WaPoo is proud employer of 3/4.)

Just a few more Bush speech-writers as columnists and the Washington Post will finally achieve its goal of fair and balanced coverage.
