Spiders are part of nature and thus we should bow down in abject terror before them or empty a can of flyspray on them.
They alright, just doin' their job.
It doesn't look like a funnel web to me but that maybe a result of misnaming in this here parts.
I couldn't show you a picture of a NZ bee in a flower, all the wild ones have been killed by a mite we got from some foreigners so that the only ones we have are commercially owned ones.

Exactly!

And I appreciate what spiders do, however, I wish they'd stop stalking me, charging me, laughing manically at me while I try to sleep...

Bummer about the wild bees.

Nice photos, thunder.

Well I can't say that I luvs the spiders. I leave them alone or squish the White Tailed variety (thanks for that unwanted import, Australia). If they would stop the maniacal laughing in the night I might like them more.

I did have a bit of trouble on the naming, A.K. According to this site, that's what they are, and also there is no space between funnel and web.

Certainly they are not an aggressive and very poisonous spider from Australia.

I remember them from when I was little; they are ubiquitous in the U.S. And they do make a funnel in their web to hide in while waiting for some lunch to wander along.

I got this one to come rushing out by dropping a bit of leaf on he/she/Arachnid's web.

The problem I have with those spiders is they never call back.

Ah HAH!

I believe we have a member of family Agelenidae here.

Ubiquitous is Latin for in Jennifer's house, all the time.

Glad to see you're incorporating animal life into your work.

Had duck for dinner tonight. Sorry, duckies.

Looks like a Funnelweb alright. As is usual down here the early settlers ran out of names for things very quickly or couldn't be arsed to ask the locals what they called things. Hence there is a small park near Melbourne that was named by the settlers who moved there after the Wombats they saw there. But as they had just come from Muvver England they called the place Badger Weir.
