The day the winetop died. Above is a pink flower for Pink Saturday, see more at Aunt Snow's place.
Mikey has some pics up. (I'm guessing that first one is a Blood Red Trumpet Vine, Distictis buccinatoria, and the next few are assorted Lantana.)
Although the winetop kicked the bucket, I still have a computation device (as any fule can see). But it doesn't have all the bells and whistles and such, let alone the bazillion pictures stored on the winetop (I just might have to put it in the oven!).
Still to come: many unfinished posts. Or else new pictures, one never knows.
(Cross-posted at Whiskey Fire. Mouse over pics for captions, and click them for larger versions.)

a Blood Red Trumpet Vine, Distictis buccinatoria
ReplyDeleteCampsis radicans sez I, looking at the stigma and the leaves in the background. But closely related.
Doh! Campsis radicans is what I've labeled the ones I see around here.
ReplyDeleteBut I was looking up red trumpet flowers on the internets, saw a Distictis buccinatoria offered by a California plant dealer, and leaped to my conclusion.
As least I'm still breathing, unlike the burgomaster.

Now you'll have ZRM complaining about the way the breathers always lord it over the metabolism-challenged.
ReplyDeleteDid some body say say zombies?

Thunder drove his Chevy to the levee, too I bet
ReplyDeletePerhaps the winetop kicked the bucket because the levy was dry...
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. :)

RIP winetop.
ReplyDeleteThat probably should have been, "Rest in Pieces", after thundra threw it at the wall.
ReplyDeleteNot throwing it at the wall, Jennifer. I'm tempted to put it in the oven, though.
ReplyDeleteThe catches are 1) it's not so easy to get the motherboard out of the Dell D630, and 2) the hard disk should still be fine, it's the video card (though that is integrated into the motherboard) that is the problem.
I have a lot of pictures and a few documents on the winetop that I want to save...

I will miss that drunken computer.
ReplyDeleteIf you decide to attempt the baking, there may be disassembly instructions at iFixit:

They've helped me destroy several computers.
Blood Red? I love Slayer.
ReplyDeleteThe likely root of your problem is that you haven't drunk enough.

ReplyDeleteDON'T THINK I HAVEN'T TRIED.
Holy sweet potato vines!
